About the music
"Fake Front" is about the pressure that we all feel to fit in and how we put up a fake front because we are afraid of being judged or rejected. Society and social media make us believe that we aren't "good enough" being ourselves. The song is about finding the courage to be yourself and to be who you really are. Fake Front is the 4th track from Oscar Stembridge's upcoming debut EP, "Thir13en".
"We all feel so much pressure to fit in - whether it's with friends, at school, at work or on social media. Sometimes it feels like there is no escape, so we put up a fake front to protect ourselves. This song is about having the courage to be yourself. I wrote the song imagining I was offering advice to my younger self, telling not to worry about what other people think and to have the confidence to be yourself.", Oscar says.
About Oscar Stembridge
Oscar is a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter. At 5 years old he started playing piano adding guitar, bass, ukulele and drums.
He was the youngest ever signed artist with Universal Music in Sweden. Oscar has amassed a global following performing live at many prestigious events incl. for the Swedish Royal Family and millions of TV viewers. Oscar is releasing his debut EP in June 2022 and has already been booked to play at major summer festivals in the US and UK.
Oscar is now working with the world-renowned artist manager and vocal coach āMama Janā Smith (Justin Bieber, Usher). This is the just the beginning of Oscar realizing his dream to perform for a sold out Madison Square Garden - a dream he first had while playing his guitar as a young boy in a small village on the south coast of Sweden.
Oscar cares deeply about our planet and is an ambassador for TogetherBand, SurfersAgainstSewage and a Fridays For Future climate activist. He has written protest songs that capture the mood of his generation about the climate crisis and played for 60,000 people opening the largest ever protest march in Stockholm. Oscar performed a guerrilla concert live outside the Swedish Parliament to raise awareness of the issues and enthralled the crowds at Climate Live last year. Oscar has released songs with millions of streams worldwide but still finds time to do what he loves most - playing live on the streets of Malmo.
